Continuing the Hate

Sorry for leaving you mid sentence, but I realized that I had about three minutes to leave my house and get to work.

Anywho, I believe I was talking about the Patriots and how they have no class. But I have sense completely forgotten where I was going with that rant.... Oh well I hate the patriots basically sums it up.

I hate the Patriots

The past three times the Patriots have played the Dolphins, aside from the last game where we won, the Patriots have done one thing consistantly: played like @$${$. The scoreboard would tell you that the Patriots got their revenge from losing to the Dolphins by posting a 48-28 victory. However, anyone who watched the game (or any of the past three games) would tell you that the game was extremely close until the fourth quarter. However, when most teams would begin to put in backups and run the ball after the game was sealed to protect the lead, the patriots once again began to run up the score. With their starters still in the game. Oh it didn't matter that the dolphins put subs in, no that would be too classy for the wise genious of Bill Billicheat.

Fire, Turkey's, and Mountaineers?!

Main so much has happened lately I feel like I have completely let you the bloggening community down. (sad face) So last week my dorn, lafollette, was smitten with fire. The basement spontaneously combusted and was completely destroyed. kind of. Then as the Day of the Turkey slowly grows near, I am going to three football games. I just got back from the first: West Virginia vs. Louisville Cardinals. WVU won and it was awesome. Got Pat White's autograph. He was all like "you should transfer and join the team as a walk on!!! WTFOMGBBQ!!!" I was like whatev'. It was pretty embarassing on his part. Anyway next up is the BSU game this Tuesday. Finally, I have the Miami Dolphins vs. St. Louis Rams game next Sunday! My girlfriend got me tickets for my Christmas present. She rocks. Ok well I gotta go. Somewhere justice calls. That or Madden 2009...

Wildcat in Action

Miami could make it to the playoffs....maybe

So Miami won again this weekend. Unfortunately, it was against a poorly coach, inexperienced, and uninterested Oakland Raiders. I don't think we are making it to the playoffs this year. We don't have an offense that can put points on the board, or a defense that can keep teams from scoring over 30 points a game. Oh well, at least the Colts won't make it either. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Got me a house

So i got a house for next year. It's pretty tight. Me and my buds got a pretty nice deal and its close to campus. I want to move in now, but whatev'. I'll post a pic later. Maybe. Don't hold me to that.

Fed up and now i rant

I am the single most pissed off person in the world tonight. I am pissed and hate the world. I don't know if we are aloud to swear on our blogs so i am going to mash the keys until my fingers hurt. ENG 101 Goals

English 101 Course Goals
1. Understand that inquiry is the beginning of all writing and reading.
I have discovered that I do much better in my writing if I take the time to understand the prompt better than if I just rush into it.
2. Understand the nature of inquiry as a visual and verbal process.
While I agree that it is important to verbally inquire about prompts and such, I don’t really think that visualization is 100% necessary.
3. Understand the connection of inquiry and audience.
I understand that you must change your topic to suit different audiences.
4. Understand the connections among inquiry, argument, and audience
I am still trying to figure out how to tie these three pieces together to improve my writing.
5. Practice writing as an ongoing process that allows writers to invent and rethink as they revise their work.
I have already started to rethink and revise my papers for the final portfolio.
6. Integrate primary research as appropriate to the rhetorical situation.
I haven’t really done much research except for my letter to the editor, but I feel like this is an area that I am competent in.
7. Develop the ability to work well with others on composing tasks.
I feel that I work well in my groups, and that we all help each other out.
8. Develop confidence in writing through inquiry and exploration.
I wouldn’t say inquiry makes me more confidant, it just gives me other angles to consider.
9. Take responsibility for their own progress.
I have made a conscious effort to keep myself on task.
Course Content & Format
1. Discuss and analyze the role of inquiry in reading and writing texts across a variety of genres.
I feel like I would be able to both analyze and discuss multiple genres of writing competently.
2. Discuss and analyze visual and verbal texts, examining each kind of text for its rhetorical situation.
This could be the most cryptic question in the world. I think I could discuss the rhetorical situations of a book?
3. Compose texts using writing as a tool of discovery and shape that writing to a rhetorical context, involving a process of prewriting drafting, and revising.
I am not the greatest prewriting guy in the world. But I do feel like it helps my papers.
4. Compose texts using multiple drafts, revising based on peer feedback, self-reflection, instructor written comments, and teacher student conferences.
I don’t always like to, but I do feel rewriting a paper helps get all of my ideas in a paper and makes it more focused.
5. Organize and compose ideas and supporting evidence in a controlled writing environment.
I think I come up with my best ideas outside of class, however, in-class-essays are not that difficult.
6. Complete a variety of four writing assignments employing various media and primary research for various audiences and contexts to be included in the student portfolio.

7. Reflect at various points on the composing processes used to construct the multiple texts of the student portfolio.

University Core Curriculum Goals
1. Engage in lifelong education by learning to acquire knowledge and to use it for intelligent ends.
I will hopefully continue to write after this class.

I feel that my writing is at a college level.

Bandwagoners Are Dumb

I hate it when people jump on the proverbial band wagon. No one likes the Tampa Bay Devil Rays so stop acting like you knew they were going to win all year long. Ughghghghg... WHY DID BOSTON GET RID OF MANNY???????!!!

WTF OMG?!?!?!!?!?!?!

What the heck is going on???? Just when I think my teams are safe from their previous years blunders something happens like Boston losing to the Tampa Baby Devil Gays. And then, as if that weren't enough, Miami loses in the final 5 seconds to THE HOUSTON TEXANS????? They were 0-4! Come on man, it's not fair. I paid my dues. I wore my Daunte Culpepper jersey (irony) every sunday night when miami went 1-234234 last year. I had on my Red Sox hat and jersey every year that Boston had to lose to the...the yankees...IN EVERY PLAYOFF!!! Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I get chills just thinking about it. At least I'm not a Pacers fan. Alright, I'm done.

Miami 2-2?!!!!

So Miami won their second game of the year over the chargers today. I didn't get to see the game because I had to work... (sad face) ... Oh well I don't have to work during the playoffs. Which is where Miami is headed at this point. Oh by the way how's Boston doing over in the Baseball department. Yeah.

This is my significant object. It's a little late, I know, but I just went home this past weekend. Ok, enjoy.

Today Shandi read us her log. Mr. McArdle made a joke about the Dolphins. I didn't think it was very funny, but then laughed when I realized they have a better chance of making the playoffs than the Colts. Then we got into our groups to talk about our This I Believe papers. Then we talked about saving our papers to .doc not .docx and posting by midnight.

Wednesday
Today we intesively reviewed Amanda Holland and Jacob Taylor's papers. Amanda's was about her boyfriend and Jacob's was about Movies. We didn't get done reviewing Jacob's papers because Mr. McArdle went off on a "bunny trail" but it's cool I guess....

Friday
Today we read, in my opinion, the best paper ever during our intensive review. I don't remember whose paper it was but it nearly brought me to tears the way he related football to his real life struggles. He probably got an Emmy or something for it. Probably two.

Intramural Footbal?!

I just joined a Co-Ed Intramural football team. We are probably going to go undefeated, when you read about it in the paper be forewarned. The team name you ask? The Shockers. Alright, later.

Miami 0-1

Miami lost their first game of the season to the New York Jets, but oddly I am in a good mood. Could it be that Indianapolis lost also? Yes. Could it be that Tom Brady injured his leg and now everyone will realize that his talentless replacement can do just as good of a job as him. Yes. It might also have something to do with Miami having a quarterback who can throw the football, get this, to his own team! Man we might win two games this year if we keep it up.

This Weekend

So it's once again that favorite time of the week: the weekend. What exciting and thrilling adventures did I go on that better myself as a person and as a student at Ball State you ask? Well I didn't really do anything for either one of those things. I just watched some football on ESPN, and went to the mall. WHAT COULD'VE POSSIBLY HAPPENED AT THE MALL?!! Well I kinda just walked around with no purpose. Me and the GF were just chillin. So that was my weekend.

So, i'm thinking about topics for my significant object paper, and it hits me: I should blog this! Not really, Casey told us all to do it in class today. Umm..... I think i'm going to write it on my computer. I am building it myself. It's pretty crazy. Yeah that's what i'll do. Thanks for your help. You mythical blogger elves you.
